Privacy policy

Tourisme Montréal ("we", "us", "our") values the protection of personal information. This privacy policy (the "Policy") describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information and how such personal information may be accessed and corrected, if necessary.

By accessing or visiting www.mtl.org (the "Site"), communicating with us (by any means), using any of our services, or agreeing to receive emails from us, you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you are under the age of 14, only your guardian or legal guardian can consent to the collection, use and disclosure of
your personal information.

This Policy does not apply to third party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy policies, procedures or practices.

We take steps to ensure that only those employees who need access to your personal information in the course of their duties have access to it.

2. How do we share your personal information?

We disclose your personal information to third parties when necessary to fulfill the purposes identified above, including:

For example, if we sell our assets, your personal information may be part of such assets.

We limit the information we provide to our suppliers and service providers to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions, and our contracts with these suppliers and service providers require them to maintain the confidentiality of such information. 3. How we store and secure your personal information?

Your personal information is hosted on the servers of our trusted provider in Canada and the United States. In addition, your personal information may be stored and processed in any of the countries in which we employ third party service providers. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of information to countries other than your country of residence. Privacy laws may differ from country to country and, when located outside of Canada, such information is subject to the laws of the country in which it is located and may need to be disclosed to the governments, courts, law enforcement agencies or regulatory bodies of that country in accordance with the laws of that country. However, our practices with respect to your personal information will at all times continue to be governed by this Policy and, where applicable, we will comply with the requirements of applicable laws regarding the transfer of personal information to a third country or province, such as putting in place contractual measures.

We implement physical, administrative and technical safeguards designed to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal information under our control. However, no security measure is absolute or fully guaranteed. We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for us to fulfill the relevant purposes identified in this Policy, including the table above, and to comply with our legal obligations. 4. Do we use cookies, profiling or tracking technologies and if so, how are they enabled and disabled?

We use cookies on our Site to make it work as intended, to collect consents required under applicable law, to analyze the performance of our Site, and to secure our Site. We also use cookies to collect information about your use of our Site (for example, the pages you visit most frequently and any error messages you may receive). Cookies are also useful for detecting bugs and errors. 5. What are your rights with respect to your personal information?

We take steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, it is your responsibility to provide us with any information that we may need to fulfill this obligation.

Upon written request and confirmation of your identity, you will be given access to the personal information in our possession and will be able to request that corrections be made, if necessary, in accordance with applicable law.

If we use and/or disclose your personal information based on your consent, you can always withdraw that consent. Please note, however, that withdrawing your consent may prevent you from receiving some or all of our services.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from the date we receive your request, subject to applicable law.

6. What about the commercial electronic messages we send?

Please note that you can stop receiving marketing communications such as our newsletter. You can do so by clicking on the Unregister or Unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the emails you receive from us. You may also contact us directly to do so using the contact information provided at the end of this
Policy.

Note that withdrawing your consent to our marketing communications does not prevent us from contacting you in connection with your requests or other forms you complete in connection with our services.
