In Imagé, three performers confront the obstacles that can arise on the road to a positive self-image. The show focuses on adolescence, a particularly sensitive period for learning to appreciate oneself. By addressing themes of comparison, competition, and perfectionism, Imagé reveals how our perception of ourselves can drift away from reality until the person in the mirror becomes a stranger. By exploring street dance on the contemporary stage, the piece highlights our neglectful behaviors towards ourselves and finds a life lesson in the diversity found in nature. Through this realization, the power of our uniqueness is revealed.
