Maison Nivard-De Saint-Dizier, Musée et site archéologique

The Maison Nivard-De Saint-Dizier, musée et site archéologique is both a museum and an outstanding example of rural architecture of New France. The house, built in 1710, sits on the largest pre-historic archeological site ever discovered on the island of Montréal, revealing occupation by Indigenous peoples dating back nearly 6,000 years. The museum’s mission is to preserve, document and showcase artefacts, collections, and archival and iconographic materials, all concerning the history and archaeological heritage of the site. The venue offers a permanent exhibition and cultural activities (stories, music, conferences, workshops).
