Through my lens: Tommy Dion’s Montréal
Tourisme Montréal
A foodie to the core, Tommy Dion lives for gourmet experiences, the expertise of artisans and quality local terroir products. And he definitely knows where to find good food in Montréal. So, for MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE’s Nuit Gourmande, we’re handing over our @montreal Instagram account to this food critic and founder of the blog and gourmet guide Le Cuisinomane. Let the food love begin!
From a gourmet standpoint, Montréal is like a giant playground that stretches to the four corners of the city. If you ask Tommy, these days the Sud-Ouest is pretty hard to beat, thanks to its sheer diversity of products and trend-setting creativity. It’s also home to Perles & Paddock, currently his favourite café. Then again, downtown is creating some major culinary buzz with LE CENTRAL, the Time Out Market and Cathcart Restaurants et Biergarten, three gourmet food hall and mouth-watering musts that showcase the most popular local restaurants and the city’s top chefs. That said, however, it really is Little Italy/Villeray that gives him major heart eyes on the day-to-day.
If Tommy were to describe Montréal, he’d use words like electrifying and exciting. For one, it has a slew of events going on, each more fun than the last. And while he has a hard time settling on just one, a high point on his foodie calendar is the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival though the Festival YUL EAT is also worth the detour for the “epicurious”.
Exclusively on the evening of February 22, close to 100 restaurants will stay open late to let people revel in one-of-a-kind experiences. We’re betting that Tommy will have some new Montréal hot spots to share with us later!
