This article was updated July 13, 2021.
A number of initiatives have been introduced lately to encourage people to buy locally, make it easier to access merchants and allow Montrealers to rediscover their city. The Expérience Peel MTL Foodies gourmet food festival is one such example, and offers epicureans and foodies another reason to flock downtown to check out the fun and food served up on Peel Street.
Outdoor patios, public spaces and ambiance on the menu
Until October 31, between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard, the outdoor patios of eight participating restaurants—Alexandre et fils, Carlos & Pepe, Ferreira Café, Ibérica, Livia, Ryu, Soubois and Café Vasco da Gama—will be expanded to make social distancing easier while creating a safe and festive ambiance.
The program features DJs, cool cocktail hours, guest artists and more. You can also order your meal to go and eat on the outdoor communal patios so that you enjoy a signature Montréal summer ambiance and great dining experience at the same time.
You’ll be able to soak up the festive atmosphere and gourmet delights rain or shine since the dining area will be covered by custom restaurant canopies.
The Expérience Peel MTL Foodies festival takes place on Peel Street between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard until October 31. Check out the program and participating restaurants.
