Tourisme Montréal

Montréal is a global capital for sports. Not only did we host the historic 1976 Summer Olympics, but we continue to welcome annual international tournaments for sports such as tennis, car racing, and triathlon. We like sport and we like adventure.

Want a bit of adrenaline after your morning croissant and coffee? Great. Montréal has oodles of options.

KSF

Try surfing (or SUP’ing)

First things first: yes, there is surfing in Montréal. You might be wondering, “How can an inland city have a legitimate surf scene?” While the city isn’t located oceanside, it is an island. The surfable wave just happens to be in a river.

The team of accredited professionals at KSF(Kayak Sans Frontiers) will escort you on a surfing safari in the waves of the St. Lawrence River. Alternatively, enjoy the thrill of SUP (stand up paddleboarding) or learn the basics of whitewater kayaking.

Visiting in the winter months? Or simply want a highly controlled surf setting? Unleash your inner Kelly Slater on the artificial wave at Oasis Surf (in Brossard).

Operating out of the Lachine Canal, H20 Adventures offers kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and more. The water here is calm, making it an ideal option for beginner paddlers.

Jet Boating the Lachine rapids / Jet St-Laurent

Get soaked on a boat

Rafting Montréal offers fast-paced excursions—rafting, jet boating, river boarding, or tandem rafting—on the Lachine waves. A perfect option for a group or a team.

Prefer to hit the water with engines? Get your blood pumping with a jet-ski tour by Wet Set MTL. Get the gang together for Saute-Moutons Jet Boating. The one-hour excursion will get hearts thumping while showing the sights of the city from a unique vantage. Want even more excitement? Spin Boating is ultra-fast and ultra-furious. We dare you to try it.
